The Lunar New Year Visit to unionised companies by key NTUC leaders has been ongoing since 1999 to show our appreciation to workers who continue to perform essential duties during these festive celebrations.

On the first day of the Lunar New Year, union leaders together with Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Finance Heng Swee Keat, NTUC President Mary Liew, NTUC Secretary-General Ng Chee Meng and NTUC Central Committee members visited Changi Airport Terminal 3 on the first day of the Lunar New Year to show their care for and appreciation to workers who provide essential services during the Lunar New Year (LNY) festive period.
On the same day, Ministers Chan Chun Sing, Desmond Lee and Indranee Rajah also joined NTUC-affiliated unions to greet workers in the public transport, port and hospitality sectors.
Organised by the NTUC and its affiliated unions, this year’s series of LNY visits saw some 3,000 workers across 9 unionised company locations being appreciated for putting their work and duties ahead of their holidays and personal celebrations during LNY. During these visits, the ministers presented LNY gifts, including ang baos and mandarin oranges, to the workers in the spirit of the LNY.
And to show care for workers providing services during the LNY season, SG Ng greeted workers at the NTUC FairPrice outlet at Rivervale Mall in Sengkang. He was accompanied by Group CEO of NTUC Enterprise and CEO of Fairprice Group, Seah Kian Peng.
