Held on 25 November 2014, The U Associate Servant Leadership Seminar saw NTUC and the Singapore Computer Society (SCS) signing a Memorandum of Understanding to potentially welcome some 8,000 members into the Labour Movement fold under the U Associate Programme.
The latest MOU makes SCS the 10th association to join the Programme, and brings the Labour Movement closer to its goal of representing one in four Professionals, Managers and Executives (PMEs) in the workforce.
The U Associate Programme, launched in 2011, reaches out to Professionals, Managers and Executives (PMEs) through industry and alumni associations and brings them the advantages of the Labour Movement.
Explained NTUC Membership Director and NTUC Membership Council Secretary Mr Vivek Kumar: “…by working closely with SCS, we will roll-out various initiatives targeted at supporting our IT professionals at their different life and career stages…”
NTUC currently has about 15,000 IT professionals who are members of NTUC.
The event attracted more than 100 U Associate partners and employers from key industries.
The participants also had the opportunity to attend the Seminar to learn how Servant Leadership can help them better lead their associations.
