As an Assistant Front Office Manager at Costa Sands Resort, an entity of NTUC Club, Saharudin Awang (second from left) is not only attentive and helpful to guests, he is also sensitive to their needs.
When a handicapped guest stayed at Costa Sands, Mr Saharudin went the extra mile to make her stay fuss-free and memorable. He worked with the Engineering Department to put a special ramp at the doorstep of her unit to make it more convenient for her to enter and leave the room.
In another incident, when a guest with two toddlers and a lot of luggage checked in at the wrong resort, Mr Saharudin arranged for a buggy to transport them from Costa Sands (Pasir Ris) to Costa Sands (Downtown East). However, it was not available and when the guest chose to walk over to Costa Sands (Downtown East), Mr Saharudin stepped in and helped to carry the luggage.
NTUC Club’s Community Engagement and Membership Executive Ms Cindy Tan (right) is no ordinary advisor to the youths at nEbO, her strong passion and belief in youths are the driving factors that have seen her go beyond the call of duty in motivating them.
One person that has been impacted by Ms Tan is 19-year-old Lim Li Khee who met her while organising a youth event. Ms Tan was quick to notice that Ms Lim was encountering difficulties in organising the event due to her reserved nature which made her lack confidence.
Ms Tan gave her the encouragement and motivation that she needed, and also provided well-thought out plans and suggestions to help guide Ms Lim and her team. The patience and dedication displayed by Ms Tan touched Ms Lim so much that she presented her with a card on Teacher’s Day. Today, Ms Lim sees Ms Tan as not just a mentor, but also a teacher and a friend.
