Game enough for a new running challenge? The Labour Movement’s U Run 2013 returns on 24 February 2013, with NTUC Club U Sports setting new challenges for runners even as it continues to engage more members and the public through sports.
U Run 2013 will feature two new categories – a 15km Competitive Run and the OMB Challenge-15.
Runners in the latter will have to complete their 15km run with a formidable 30-storey climb to the roof-top of One Marina Boulevard.
U Run is designed to encourage participation and bond-building for all age groups and backgrounds, with categories spanning the 5km Fun Run to the unique OMB Challenge.
Said NTUC Club Chief Operating Officer Lim Eng Lee: “U Run is about maintaining an active lifestyle with friends and family, training together, encouraging each other and challenging oneself.
“With the increasing number of participants and higher standard of physical endurance, U Run is evolving and improving to set new challenges for our participants.”
Registration for U Run kicked off on 9 November 2012. While registration is scheduled to close at the end of January 2013, NTUC Club expects all 7,500 spaces to be taken up before that date.
U Run has become one of U Sports’ flagship events, with an increase in capacity of close to 50 per cent planned for 2013.
To show its support for U Run runners, NTUC Club has also introduced the U Run Premium Package for members and the U Run Premium Package Bundle for non-members, enabling them to make a one-stop registration for U Run 2013 and four other runs at special rates.
