The determined trainer

NTUC LearningHub Private Limited Consultant Trainer George K Krishnan (left) was determined to help former despatch rider Selvam provide for his family of four.

Injured by an accident which prevented him from continuing in his job, Mr Selvam took up the Basic Licensing Unit course in hope of becoming a security officer. However, his lack of English literacy prevented him from passing. In desperation, he wrote in to appeal and it was received by Mr Krishnan.

Mr Krishnan encouraged Mr Selvam to re-take the test and even went the extra mile to give him extra lessons at home, after office hours for a week, even though he was not his lecturer for the refresher course. In the end, Mr Selvam passed the re-test with flying colours.
