Rubel Awaldar, 29, Electrician (Bangladeshi)

“I came here for work some years back and life here has been very kind to me so far.  Singaporean rules and regulations help protect us and if your boss and your job are good, it is great to be here. I hope to contribute more to Singapore as the years go by.”

Mohammad Poragmia, 23, Electrician (Bangladeshi)

“There are so many opportunities that us migrants can explore here, as the Singaporean Government takes care of all people. I am happy with my income as I can support my family back home with the amount. My job has given me a lot of experience and opportunity to do more than what I was given back home and I am grateful to Singapore for that.”

Jeevanathan Muthusamy, 23, Cleaner (Malaysian)

“Singapore pays very well and that is why I made the decision to work here. I have been working here for two years and so far, I feel very lucky to have a supportive supervisor and a good job. I find my job even easier now because they have given me time to learn and grow.”

Ms Tian Honz Naunz, 33, Kitchen Aide (Vietnamese)

“I am only here for six months now but I have my husband and child here with me. My child is now studying in Singapore and that is my main motivation to be working here, to give her a better life in this beautiful, clean country. Jobs are plenty here and I am grateful to be contributing to the country in the little way that I am. So far, I am very happy in my job and excited about the future.”
