Over the last 30 to 40 years, Singapore has grown strongly. Certainly, we had been hit by recessions - in 1973-74, in 1985-86 and in 1997-98 - but each time we have recovered quickly. Currently we are in the trough of a downturn. Will we recover as quickly as we had done in the past?
