The National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) has signed long-term partnership agreements with two strategic partners to help union members and their families stretch their hard-earned dollar further. NTUC has tied up with Healthway Medical and Tiger Airways recently to help its members stay healthier and explore new places. All 690,000 3-Gen union members can now look forward to exclusive packages and savings under these agreements.
12 social enterprises and 2 country clubs in the Labour Movement family provide special privileges to union members. The rising cost of living across other everyday needs in recent years has prompted NTUC to recognise strategic partners who can provide products and services at an affordable price to union members.
With a network of over 50 clinics island-wide, union members will have the option to access high quality and affordable healthcare services under the agreement signed on 26 April 2012 with Healthway Medical. This is the first time NTUC has signed a partnership agreement with a healthcare provider to provide a range of healthcare services, including family medical consultation, health screening and medical wellness at affordable charges. Union members need only pay $15 for each consultation and can also enjoy special Health Screening Packages from $19.90. The two-year agreement with Healthway Medical takes effect from 1 May 2012.
Separately, NTUC has also inked a one-year agreement with Tiger Airways which will take effect from 2 May 2012. Union members can look forward to exclusive offers, priority boarding and $5 discount for check-in luggage per passenger throughout the year when they purchase tickets via www.tigerairways.com/promo/ntuc. This is also the first time that NTUC has signed a year-long partnership with an airline.
These tie-ups with the two partners mark an exciting journey where NTUC is reaching out to many more merchants to bring a suite of privileges and benefits to union members and their families, helping them stretch their dollar further as we work towards enhancing their lives as they work, live and play.
Mr Vivek Kumar, Director of NTUC Membership Department, said “With the rising cost of living, we believe these partnerships will further add value to our members. For example, Unity Pharmacy has doubled its rebate to union members to 4% everyday starting 1 May 2012. The new strategic partnerships with Healthway Medical and Tiger Airways – largest players in their respective categories - would further enable our members to get convenient access to healthcare and air travel at more affordable prices.”
“Having the biggest clinic network in Singapore, Healthway Medical is proud to partner NTUC to provide high quality, accessible and affordable healthcare to its members, who have made great contribution to the success of Singapore”, said Mr Lam Pin Woon, President and Executive Director of Healthway Medical.
Dave Perring, Commercial Director of Tiger Airways Singapore said, “Tiger Airways is extremely pleased to be NTUC’s airline partner, and provide its members with more reasons to travel with friends and family without having the worry of exceeding their budget. As Singapore’s largest low-cost carrier, Tiger Airways’ partnership with NTUC will offer union members exclusive access to more savings when they travel.”
