NTUC’s network of social enterprises is helping students opportunities to pick up valuable working experience through various initiatives.

In a memorandum of understanding signed with Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) on 24 January 2017, NTUC Health is now offering students from the School of Health Sciences, School of Chemical & Life Sciences, and School of Business Management internship placements and employment opportunities in its service sectors such as dental care, elder care and retail pharmacies. The partnership will also see NTUC Health support NYP students through scholarship and sponsorship opportunities.

Additionally, NTUC Health will work with NYP to leverage its experience in the healthcare sector in the areas of curriculum, research and industrial development for the benefit of students.

NTUC Health’s arrangement with NYP echoes the partnership between NTUC Foodfare and Temasek Polytechnic (TP) that was formalised on 5 January 2017.

As reported in NTUC This Week’s 12 January 2017 issue, the social enterprise works with students in TP’s School of Applied Science to develop healthier meals and nutritional programmes for customers. Internship opportunities are also available for students.
