Celebrating International Women's Day today with the theme ‘It's Time N.O.W’ (Nurture Our Women), NTUC Women's Development Secretariat (WDS) is all set to go on a search to recognise best companies for working mums.
WDS has long advocated flexible work arrangements in companies to bring women back to work.
At the fair this morning, it brought 17 employers with 1,000 job positions, in a joint effort with NTUC's e2i (Employment and Employability Institute).
Of these, 10 employers offered flexible work options in about 200 vacancies.
Some 2,500 women, family and friends joined NTUC Secretary-General Lim Swee Say, NTUC President Diana Chia and Speaker of Parliament Halimah Yacob for a brisk walk this morning to kick off the celebrations.
