Singapore’s Pioneer Generation can look forward to enjoying special privileges come September 2014 when NTUC Social Enterprises kick-starts a series of special offerings and events just for them.

NTUC Secretary-General, Lim Swee Say, shared this at the Labour Movement’s first mega party, ‘Appreciating U - Our Pioneers’. Some 7,000 Pioneer Generation union members and their families attended the 1960s-themed get-together. The event is part of the Labour Movement’s recent roll-out of the nationwide ‘Appreciating U’ movement to encourage the appreciation of workers.

Among the perks announced are exclusive privileges for Pioneer Generation union members such as  S$5 consultations every Tuesday at Parkway Shenton Medical Group clinics island-wide and subsidised air travel on Tiger Airway.

“We have come a long way in 50 years. As we celebrate SG50, our biggest ‘Thank you’ must go to our Pioneer Generation of workers and unionists. If not for them, we won’t be working and living in the Singapore of today,” said SG Lim.
