Public transport workers greeted with festive LNY wishes

Over at the transport sector, key union leaders from the National Transport Workers’ Union (NTWU) visited bus drivers at work on the first day of Lunar New Year, in what has become a tradition over the years.

Senior management of SBS Transit and SMRT also joined in the appreciation of the services of the workers.

This year, Minister of State for Transport Mrs Josephine Teo and Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Transport Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim joined NTWU leaders to greet some 530 public transport workers on 10 February 2013.

Workers on the ground included bus drivers, train employees, workshop technical staff and traffic inspectors at Bukit Batok Bus Depot, Toa Payoh MRT Station as well as Bukit Batok, Toa Payoh and Yishun Bus Interchanges.
