Around 23,000 public service workers will receive support in navigating evolving work demands.

The Amalgamated Union of Public Employees (AUPE), which represents employees from ministries, statutory boards and organs of state, has partnered with public sector portal GovInsider to provide workers with new skills to adapt to technology-driven changes in public services.

The partnership will position the union as a thought leader in the public innovation space.

AUPE announced the partnership on 28 September 2024 at its 65th-anniversary celebrations at the Marina Bay Sands.

Under the agreement, AUPE members can access GovInsider’s content to gain greater awareness of local and regional issues, including emerging technologies, policies, and workforce trends.

The union’s members, who are primarily PMEs, can also participate in the portal’s exclusive learning and networking events, such as conferences and roundtables.

Members can also share their transformation journeys as part of the AUPE Transformation Champions story series.

“Through the collaboration with GovInsider, we hope to support public sector employees in their lifelong learning journey.

“AUPE will continue working closely with NTUC and our tripartite partners to better our public officers’ lives and advance their welfare,” said AUPE General Secretary Sanjeev Tiwari.

Keeping retired members active in the union community

Retired AUPE members can stay connected to the union through a new alumni programme that offers subsidised membership rates.

They can also continue to enjoy a slew of work and lifestyle benefits to stay active.

These benefits include casual or part-time job opportunities, enrichment courses, cost-saving privileges from social enterprises, and other union and NTUC benefits promoting health and social networking.

Serving members better through refreshed offerings

AUPE members can also look forward to a new experience at the union’s premises along 295 Upper Paya Lebar Road, which will be undergoing a makeover from the third quarter of 2025 to 2028.

Once the redevelopment is completed, members will be able to enjoy bigger halls and meeting rooms, expanded recreational spaces, and enhanced food and beverage offerings.

Members wanting to learn more about AUPE’s rich 65-year-old history can visit the new heritage room.

Meanwhile, around 20,000 members are benefiting from the increased convenience and engagement provided by the AUPE mobile application, which was launched in 2019.

These members can use the app to make feedback and enquiries, book facilities, register for events, and stay updated with the AUPE newsletter, among other services.
