As part of the Todo Todo programme, a collaboration between NTUC and the People’s Association, Young NTUC’s Youth Career Network (YCN) continued its foray into Singapore’s heartlands by engaging with some 120 students residing in Chua Chu Kang.
The event, YCN@Limbang, was another of Todo Todo’s outreach efforts and took place on 10 June 2017 at Yew Tee Community Centre. The event featured an abridged version of YCN’s career discovery and mentorship programme, giving ITE, polytechnic and university students an opportunity to discover more about their characters, personal interests, learn about their dream career and how to get started.
Reaching Out To More
YCN@Limbang was a supporting event to the Limbang Tertiary Awards Ceremony, where 150 bursaries were given out to ITE, polytechnic and university students by Minister for National Development and Second Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong, who is also member of parliament for Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC.
“This is very exciting for NTUC because we are leveraging our extensive network of expertise to reach out to young Singaporeans who have yet to enter the workforce and partner them on their journeys.
“This is a big breakthrough for us and the greater delight is that the community [Limbang] had heard about us and invited us to come and reach out to young people in a meaningful and purposeful way,” shared Young NTUC Executive Secretary Desmond Choo.
