While the country wakes up to the first day of the Lunar New Year on 28 January 2017, workers at the Senoko Power Plant are at work so you can fire up your festive steamboat to enjoy your holiday with family and friends.

Donned in personal protective equipment, PM Lee and Mrs Lee tour the Senoko Power Plant, which is led by NTUC President Mary Liew, Secretary-General Chan Chun Sing and Central Committee members during their visit to the Senoko Power Station.

The workers at Senoko Energy Pte Ltd, who are represented by the Union of Power and Gas Employees, are happy to be visited by the Prime Minister.

Besides meeting up with about 30 workers, comprising duty shift managers, team leaders, engineers and technical officers who work behind-the-scenes to keep Singapore’s power running 24/7, PM Lee also learns what is done to keep Singapore going round the clock.

To share the festive joy, PM Lee gives out red packets and mandarin oranges, as well as gifts provided by Mrs Lee, to the workers.

The visit ended with a traditional Lo Hei session with workers, union leaders and Senoko Energy management partners.
