NTUC Social Enterprises have banded together to thank the Pioneer Generation for their contributions towards building the nation with a ‘Pioneers OK! Package.
Launched by NTUC Secretary-General (SG) Lim Swee Say on 13 October 2014 at the AMK Hub, the 15-month initiative touches on pioneers’ needs such as daily essentials, cooked food, health products, education and insurance.
There are three major components to the campaign –‘Pioneers Priority’, ‘Pioneers Monday’ and ‘Pioneers Exclusives’.
Pioneers Priority
Under the Pioneers Priority programme, NTUC FairPrice will designate priority queues while NTUC Foodfare will serve up priority seats at their food courts for the pioneer generation. Likewise, NTUC Unity will adopt a ’Give Way to Pioneers’ queue.
Pioneers Monday
Starting from 13 October 2014, pioneers can expect a 3% discount every Monday at NTUC FairPrice, a 12% discount at NTUC Foodfare and a 6.5% discount at NTUC Unity Pharmacies. Pioneers need to only show their Pioneer Generation Card to get these discounts.
Pioneer Exclusives
NTUC LearningHub plans to roll out classes to teach pioneers how to use smart devices such as smartphones to help them connect with the fast changing world and stay in touch with their multi-generational family members.
