Just before the May Day Rally each year, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong meets leaders from the Labour Movement to get first hand updates on concerns facing them and their members, and the state of the industries which they represent.
Last week, PM Lee held two lunch sessions with Labour Movement leaders at the Istana in preparation for his May Day Rally speech on 1 May 2017.
LM’s Feedback
“They spoke about the challenges they are facing, the changes they foresee and how they are helping workers cope. Our economy did quite well in Q1, growing 2.5 per cent. The outlook is encouraging. I will talk about the economy and jobs at the upcoming May Day Rally,” said PM in his Facebook posting.
This year, the Labour Movement will celebrate May Day with over 39,000 working people and partners.
The theme for the celebrations is “Labour Movement By Your Side”.
