Thanking Tripartite Partners
We are delighted to have so many of you here with us to celebrate our nation’s 51st Birthday. Thank you all for joining us this afternoon. We are very honoured to have Brother Swee Say and Brother Robert grace this event as it signifies the strength of our tripartite partnership and their support for the Labour Movement!
Unusual Labour Movement
This year, the Labour Movement has been growing our network and expanding our services to better serve the evolving needs of our diverse workforce. In order to stay relevant, we challenged ourselves to have new approaches to better serve the growing number of PMEs, freelancers, self-employed, contract workers as well as working people in the SMEs. Therefore, this year’s NDOC is a very special one. While it is our first time celebrating NDOC at Big Box, this is also the first time that we have gathered over 2,000 leaders and professionals from our network of affiliated unions and associations, U Associates, U SME partners, U FSE partners as well as our NTUC social enterprises and NTUC staff.
Many of our partners also came forth as booth exhibitors today, to showcase their unique products and services and to show their support for the Labour Movement. For that, we are very heartened. While we celebrate National Day as one Labour Movement, through this event, we also hope to strengthen the camaraderie within our Unusual Labour Movement. We want everyone to recognise that each and every single one of you contribute to the strength of our Unusual Labour Movement. You play an important role. And as part of the family, we want you, your workers and your companies to grow and benefit from our network. As one Labour Movement, let’s continue to work hand in hand to strengthen this relationship and build our Singapore of tomorrow.
