If you are past retirement age but still want to work, Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) is looking for you. A strong supporter of the Labour Movement’s call to value mature workers for their experience and skills, RWS has always been looking to recruit and re-employ elderly workers with the relevant skill sets. In fact, among its employees is a 74-year old who is still happily working for the organisation.
These older employees have as many opportunities to be promoted as their younger counterparts as well. RWS recently promoted a 67-year old employee from Sales Associate to Lead Sales Associate in one of its retail outlets.
It has also worked with NTUC’s e2i (Employment and Employability Institute) and community partners to hire the retrenched, back-to-work mothers, ex-offenders, and other capable Singaporeans.
For its forward-thinking hiring policy, RWS was awarded the May Day Model Partnership Award under the Management and Union Partner category.
“This award should go to not just the management of the company but really all our workers who have made our attractions, our hotels, our F&B services, and everything else work like clockwork,” said Goh Chye Boon, Executive Vice-President, Resort Operations, Resorts World Sentosa.
