Nora Kang, president of the DBS Staff Union
Ms Nora Kang is one who leads by example. DBS is one of the early adopters of the Progressive Wage Model, and this was made possible with her leading the DBS Staff Union to be the trusted partner in strong bipartite relations.
Ms Kang joined the NTUC Women’s Committee in 1997, serving as vice-chairperson from 2003 to 2007 and as chairperson from 2007 to 2015. She has dedicated many years to upholding the voice and strength of the Labour Movement, and represented women on various platforms.
She developed programmes like the Back to Work with You Programme to assist women jobseekers with employment and the WeCare for U Project for single mothers and their children. She is also a strong advocate for family-friendly practices at the workplace.
Ms Kang is a caring mentor to younger women leaders in the NTUC Women’s Committee, generously sharing her wealth of leadership experience and inspiring them through their leadership journey.
