The news about the changes to the retirement age, re-employment age and CPF contribution rates have been plastered all over the media. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong also mentioned that the Labour Movement will be getting land to build a new island resort in his National Day Rally speech.

Mr Heng was on the tripartite workgroup that made the recommendation to the Government to raise the retirement and re-employment ages.

"The Labour Movement as well as union leaders have given feedback that many of the workers would want an opportunity to work longer and to stay engaged in the labour market. So, the raising of both the retirement age and re-employment age will allow older workers who are keen, able and want to work, stay engaged in the workforce. “
