The Public Service Division (PSD) at the Prime Minister’s Office has announced the Civil Service End-Year Payment for 2013. Civil servants will receive a year-end Annual Variable Component (AVC) of 1.1 months, with lower-wage officers receiving an AVC of at least $1,600.
In light of Singapore’s healthy economic growth and outlook of about 3.5% - 4%, the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and our seven affiliated civil service unions* welcomes the Government’s announcement, a result of extensive deliberations between PSD and NTUC.
In particular, NTUC and the civil service unions are heartened by the Government’s consideration of our call to help lower-waged officers through the minimum AVC payment of $1,600 for lower-waged civil servants which will benefit at least 1,300 officers.
The Labour Movement is glad that our civil servants will be fairly rewarded for their commitment and dedication to the public service through a total AVC and NPAA package of 2.5 months for 2013.
Together with its civil service unions, the Labour Movement will work closely with tripartite partners to further enhance workers’ capabilities and improve productivity.
