We would like to share that the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) welcome all working people, including foreign workers, to become a member of the Labour Movement family. In fact, as at today, we have about 15% foreign workers out of our 560,000 membership base who are union members spread across various industries. All foreign workers enjoy the same privileges and benefits such as workplace representation, legal aids, training and social benefits that the Labour Movement offers to its members. There are also special programmes such as Migrant Workers Day Out, Social Integration Programme etc. organised for foreign workers members by the unions to help them integrate into our society.

Separately, the Migrant Workers Centre, a bipartite effort of NTUC and the Singapore National Employers Federation, also offers humanitarian assistance, educational programmes and recreational activities to help foreign workers integrate more easily into the Singapore society.

Cham Hui Fong (Ms)
Director, Industrial Relations Department
National Trades Union Congress
