NTUC welcomes MR Heng Chee How back into the Labour Movement

1 Mr Heng Chee How will spend part of his time with the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) from 1 June 2006.
2 Mr Heng will be appointed a Deputy Secretary-General (DSG) in NTUC, a position he held before his appointment as Minister of State two years ago. Previously, he held the NTUC DSG position concurrently with his Mayor appointment from November 2001 to August 2004. Since August 2004, he was appointed Minister of State and remained a Mayor.
3 The NTUC Central Committee welcomes Mr Heng back to the fold. We are sure that the experience and broadened perspective he gained in the Government will benefit the labour movement and workers.
