NTUC and the National Day Parade (NDP) 2024 Executive Committee (EXCO) are set to organise the “NTUC x NDP Bay Celebrations” as part of the extended NDP 2024 festivities.

The event marks the first time since 2015 that NTUC has assembled a large-scale National Day celebration at the Promontory @ Marina Bay.

The event will be held on 3 August (Preview) and 9 August (Main Celebration) and is expected to attract over 15,000 Singaporeans across both days, spotlighting Singapore’s youth and celebrating their contributions to the nation.

Through this event, NTUC reaffirms its commitment to supporting the dreams and aspirations of young Singaporeans, fostering a united youth community that continues to impact the country positively.

Exciting performances, interactive installations, and youth-centric activities

Attendees can look forward to an exciting lineup of performances by homegrown artists such as Iman Fandi, Yung Raja, Shye, 53A, and DJ Red, as well as budding talents like The Jazzlings, AEONA, ShiLi and Adi, and the acapella group [ Placeholder ].

The event will also feature a live broadcast of the NDP, alongside immersive NDP elements, including the state flag flypast, “Salute to the Nation” bomb burst by the Republic of Singapore Air Force, presidential gun salute sail-past, and the Total Defence 40 (TD40) Dynamic Defence Display (D3)’s high-speed chase, as well as the fireworks display.

One of the highlights of the NTUC Bay Celebrations is the symbolic “In a Heartbeat” moment, where participants can demonstrate their solidarity and love for Singapore as One United People. During this segment, singer-songwriter Shye, youth jazz collective The Jazzlings, and DJ Red will perform a special rendition of Home by Kit Chan, while attendees sing along and create a collective heartbeat using pulsating red LED lights from their wristbands.

A “Youth Heartbeat” photo challenge will run from 24 June to 9 August 2024, encouraging youths to submit photos of themselves posing with a heart gesture. Selected pictures will form a video collage played during the symbolic moment.

Participants can also engage with interactive installations such as the “Ties that Bind,” where they can express their aspirations and dreams for Singapore on cards attached to an “I ❤️SG” display using red ribbons.

The “Memory Lane” installation invites attendees to capture their experience at the event through photos and messages, contributing to a collective memory board.

The NTUC Booth will showcase various initiatives to support youths in Work, Live, and Play. These initiatives will include the NTUC Starter Membership, the NTUC Youth Taskforce, and Young NTUC’s Mentorship and Career Programmes.

Attendees can participate in activities as part of NTUC’s care movement, receive Umoji (NTUC emoji) merchandise in return, and collect friendship bracelets that celebrate youth.

They can also enjoy exclusive membership perks and snag sign-up gifts by signing up for NTUC Starter Membership.
