The NTUC-U Care Fund is once again rolling out the NTUC U Stretch and U Care Back to School assistance programmes. The U Stretch vouchers amounting to $2.675 million aim to help 31,500 union members defray their costs of living and maximise their expenditure on basic necessities.

U Care Back to School vouchers amounting to $3.8 million will also be given out to 30,400 school-going children, to lighten union members’ financial burden in buying new school supplies for their children’s new school year. This year also saw the income criteria being raised.

NTUC Assistant Secretary-General and Director for Care and Share Department Zainal Sapari said: “We have raised the income criteria this year and expect about 11,000 more beneficiaries for the two assistance programmes, compared to 50,000 beneficiaries last year.

“This is the Labour Movement’s commitment to help as many low-income members as possible so that they can cope better financially.”

How to apply:

The joint application period is from now to 15 July 2015.
