The NTUC-U Care Fund donated $520,000 today to the Bright Horizons Fund (BHF), managed by the NTUC First Campus Co-operative Limited, as part of the Labour Movement’s commitment to level the playing field for young children who are less privileged.

At the Family and School Together (FAST) – Children’s Party organised by NTUC First Campus at the D’Marquee in Downtown East this morning, the cheque was presented by NTUC Assistant Secretary-General and Director of Care & Share Department Mr Zainal Sapari to Mr Daniel Chua, Group Customer Service and Operations Officer, NTUC First Campus on behalf of the BHF.

Mr Zainal Sapari said, “It has been the Labour Movement’s belief that every child, regardless of background, should get an early start on a proper education. Thus, in 2007, the NTUC First Campus started the BHF with the primary objective of helping children from low-income families gain access to quality pre-school education provided by My First Skool, despite their family circumstances. The NTUC-U Care Fund has been contributing to the BHF since its inception and so far, we have donated over $3 million.”

Over 1,000 guests consisting of beneficiaries from the BHF and their family members were present at the event and they were treated to a morning of games and carnival activities as well as lunch.
