NTUC Health grabbed the spotlight recently when it clinched the Best Day Care Programme award and was named finalist for the Best Technology for Operational Efficiency award at the 5th Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards.

Organised by ageing market consultancy social enterprise Ageing Asia, the awards, dubbed the ‘Oscars of the Eldercare Industry’, recognise organisations in Asia Pacific who exhibit innovation in eldercare.

Winning Programmes

At the heart of the Best Day Care Programme win is NTUC Health Silver Circle’s ‘Celebration of Life’ theme that consists of a range of engagement programmes designed to enhance physical independence, improve mental well-being and encourage social integration.

The efforts enable seniors to feel empowered with a renewed sense of purpose and self-worth during their time in the centres. One example is the Inter-Generational Programme that connects the seniors with kindergarten children to forge relationships and share values.

In the category of Best Technology for Operational Efficiency, NTUC Health’s Care@home initiative has been using a Workforce Assignment and Mobility tool to efficiently and effectively match caregivers with clients. Key features of the digital resource management system include case matching, tracking and automating the billing process, helping to save valuable man hours which can be better devoted to patient care.

“We are encouraged by the awards as they affirm our commitment and efforts to provide quality and affordable services to seniors. As we do more to better serve the growing needs of an ageing population, we will continue to keep the well-being of our clients at the heart of all we do,” said NTUC Health CEO Chua Song Khim.
