Eileen Chang Chue Wah, 55
Service Manager at UOB Upper Bukit Timah Branch
NTUC LearningHub Course Participant
As a service manager at UOB’s Upper Bukit Timah Branch, 55-year-old Eileen Chang enjoys meeting customers, understanding their needs and helping them find the right solutions to meet their financial goals. Eileen has also been working closely with her colleagues to create meaningful experiences for customers since joining the bank 15 years ago.
“I was a housewife before joining UOB, so training and upgrading was key to helping me do well in my customer service role,” she shared.
With the support of UOB, Eileen has completed more than 50 hours of training since March 2018. She is looking for more technology-related courses to deepen her digital skills so that she continues to be well prepared for future roles and responsibilities. She said that this is particularly important as technology is quickly changing the nature of work in the financial sector.
Just recently, Eileen completed courses in Design Thinking in Service Innovation and Managing Diversity as part of UOB’s collaboration with NTUC LearningHub.
“After attending the classes, I am now more confident when guiding customers on how they can use UOB’s digital solutions. For example, they can use our UOB Mighty mobile banking app to make fund transfers quickly or to check their account balances easily,” Eileen said.
Eileen credits her ability to adapt to technological changes at the workplace to having a positive mindset. She said, “I have a ‘can do’ attitude that helps me keep pace with the changes brought about by technology in the financial sector. As long as we remain open to learning, we can benefit from the courses available from training providers such as NTUC LearningHub.”
