We would like to thank Madam Sanisa Sahamat for alerting us to her application for an NTUC Education Grant for her child (Berita Harian Forum Page, 27 June 2012).
Our records show that we have received Madam Sanisa’s application for U Stretch Voucher on 18 June 2012 and we are currently processing it. Unfortunately, we did not receive her application for NTUC Education Grant. We have since met-up with Madam Sanisa, and are assisting her on the Education Grant for her child. We will keep her informed with the scheduled announcement on beneficiaries for these programs in August 2012.
We would also like to share that as a caring Labour Movement, we have put in place multiple assistance programs to support our lower-income Union Members & their families. These include (a) U Stretch Voucher which provides relief to our members by helping to stretch their dollar on daily necessities (b) NTUC Education Grant which is awarded to members with school-going children to help them cope with their children’s education expenses (c) U Care Back to School Voucher which is to assist our members to defray the cost of their children's school expenses for the new school year and (d) The Family Recreation & Fun Carnival which allows members and their families to enjoy an all-expenses paid family-day outing in Downtown East.
We will continue to work towards meeting our members’ needs even better across Work, Live & Play.
