The discussions at the recent U Future Leaders Summit 2017 (UFLS) on 10 November 2017 centred around how digitalisation has changed the workplace as we know it.
But the key thing to note from this year’s conference is the launch of the U Future Leaders Exchange (UFLX). Designed for time-strapped individuals, the programme offers unlimited access to bite-sized workshops and various learning resources (at a reasonable one-time price of $30 for NTUC members and $100 for public) to help you better navigate, adapt and thrive in your career.
The Details
It leverages the Labour Movement’s extensive network of partners to offer short workshops, seminars, learning journeys and networking events in a wide variety of areas. This way, you can pick the sessions that are most relevant to your personal and professional needs. Examples include workshops on effective leadership to working in a virtual environment, to events on trending topics such as digital marketing and even entrepreneurship.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, NTUC Secretary-General Chan Chun Sing said the UFLX programme, designed to be short and timely, will enable working people to overcome the challenges of time and money.
A pilot run of the UFLX has been ongoing since March 2017, with some 50 different sessions conducted to benefit more than 1,000 union members. An additional 60 of these micro-learning initiatives are already being lined up for 2018.
