Abigail Lee, former president of Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors (Singapore) (APACS) has contributed much to the Labour Movement with APACS being an NTUC U Associate partner.
She spent her time and energy to prepare and conduct health talks for many unions and their branches such as Amalgamated Union of Public Employees and the Attorney-General's Chambers, Healthcare Services Employees’ Union (HSEU) and National University Hospital, and HSEU and Singapore General Hospital.
Thanks to Abigail, more than 150 union members have benefited from the talks on stress management and overall emotional well-being.
Abigail also supported the NTUC Women and Family Unit to host a live video stream about “Finding Emotional Wellness Balance at Work and Home for All” to the followers of the U Family Facebook Page. The live stream post attracted over 10,000 reads.
First Union-U Associate Partnership
Besides her contribution on a personal capacity to the Labour Movement, Abigail was also instrumental in making the first union-U Associate alliance happen in September 2017.
HSEU and APACS formalised their existing partnership through the announcement of the HSEU-APACS Alliance, which drives initiatives to promote the mental well-being of current and future healthcare workers.
The alliance also helps healthcare workers to focus on the complex and high-touch aspects of their work.
Abigail has also been supportive by attending events organised by the Labour Movement such as May Day Rally, PAP Conference, dialogue with the Prime Minister and more.
