MOM Accepts Several Calls Made by Labour MPs at Budget 2020

Disclaimer: This is not a real group chat. It is a re-construction of exchanges between NTUC and MOM over time. The Labour Movement thanks our Government partners for their strong support for workers in this year’s Budget and COS.

Labour Members of Parliament represent the interests of all workers in Singapore. And what better way to make workers’ voices heard than to have direct access to the Government. Especially during the Committee of Supply Debates (COS) at Budget.

NTUC’s Labour MPs raised many questions and called for the Manpower Ministry to look into many issues affecting workers – not only at this year’s Budget, but also in previous years.

Given the good tripartite relationship the Government has with NTUC, it’s really not difficult to believe the conversations might go something like this:

Support for Mid-Career Workers

Support for Older Workers

Review of the Employment Pass Salary Ceiling

Helping Freelancers and Self-Employed Save for Retirement

Helping Workers Achieve Work-Life Balance

Bringing Back the Surrogate Employer Programme

Uplifting Low-Wage Workers' Welfare

Creating Safer and Healthier Workplaces
