At the U Future Leaders Summit, NTUC Secretary-General Chan Chun Sing also announced more details regarding the start of Innovation Exchange in the first quarter of 2017.
Amidst future uncertainties, workers, companies, industries, economies and even countries have been disrupted and are undergoing transformation to remain relevant. As Singapore goes through restructuring, the nation will need to focus on three fundamentals – the Government, the businesses and our working people – to maintain our competitiveness in the long run. Across the different stakeholders, there is also a need to have a change in attitude towards continuous learning and upgrading.
Collectively as a Labour Movement, we want to partner our working people to help them better seize opportunities in this new digital economy. On top of possessing the skills of tomorrow, our working people will need to embrace the growth mindset and be able to thrive in ambiguity, to become employees of tomorrow.
Innovation Exchange (IEX) lineup for Q1 2017
To groom our working people to become employees of tomorrow, the Labour Movement previously introduced Innovation Exchange (IEX), the fourth stage of the U Future Leaders suite of programmes in end October. At the U Future Leaders Summit 2016, the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) Secretary-General, Mr Chan Chun Sing also shared more about the initiative. Strategically designed to help cultivate the growth mindset in our working people and inspire them to think out of the box, IEX will bring participants on a journey of innovation where they will visit leading innovation labs of multinational corporations (MNCs) and engage the MNCs’ key innovators in roundtable sessions. Through IEX, the Labour Movement wants to connect our working people with the latest innovation insights and know-how, to add value to their careers.
The pioneer group of participating MNCs comprising Dentsu Aegis Network, DHL, Intel, Mastercard, Microsoft, Procter & Gamble and Unilever, all of which are part of the Labour Movement’s U Circle of Friends, will be opening their innovation labs to the larger community, comprising NTUC members and past participants of the U Future Leaders programe, for the first time. The inaugural IEX will take participants to the labs of Intel on 3 February 2017, Dentsu Aegis Network on 17 February 2017, Procter & Gamble on 7 April 2017 and Microsoft on 5 May 2017. Interested participants can visit
