This is session part of a series of Networking Sessions for the financial industry to promote courses for professional development.  During the evening, key speakers will highlight the various education and training opportunities open to compliance professionals such as Financial Industry Competency Standards (FICS) Accredited Diplomas in Compliance and Anti Money Laundering. To date, more than 360 training and assessment programmes have been accredited under the FICS framework, with more than 1, 200 individuals certified under FICS.  Some 60 professionals have already signed up for the networking session, which will see speakers covering on training and education specific for compliance professionals. e2i has partnered with an WSQ Financial Industry Competency Standards (FICS) Lead Provider, International Compliance Association (ICA)  to help promote and inform on the FICS Compliance courses.

Training and Education, specifically under the FICS framework is key in building and sustaining a strong Singaporean Core in the Finance and Business Services Industry. Mr. Terry Lee, the chairman of NTUC’s Finance and Business Services Cluster was encouraged by the response, and highlighted the importance of Singaporeans being constantly up-skilled in the industry. “As Singapore’s finance sector competes globally, there is a strong need, as highlighted by DPM Tharman previously, for Singaporeans to remain competitive and be given a leg up in continuous development and progress in their careers. The Labour Movement firmly believes that Singaporeans maintain advantages in this sector and we support the FICS framework.  Holding an event like today’s will help PMEs know more about being up skilled in line with industry standards and in so doing give them more opportunities to reach their career milestones.”
