About a 100-strong group dropped in to participate in the wrap-up session of the Labour Movement 'Our Singapore Conversation' series this evening at The Food Loft by NTUC Foodfare, located at the Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 3.
The evening saw Singaporeans conversing with Singaporeans on issues close to their hearts, covering themes such as ‘Flying Singapore’, ‘Everything Within An Hour’, ‘Respect for All Working People’, ‘Making Singapore A Pro-Family, Pro-Living Singapore’, ‘An Affordable Singapore?’, and ‘Defining Ourselves – The Singaporean Identity & Our Values’.
The Labour Movement has been taking part in the 'Our Singapore Conversation' by organising their own series of conversations with various communities such as union leaders, in-school youths (nEbO), young working adults (Young NTUC), families (U Family), PMEs, active agers (U Live), low-wage workers and the self-employed, including taxi drivers.
To date, it has held about 20 sessions since September 2012, and has seen participation from more than 650 members from various walks of life. The Labour Movement called on its various communities to reach out to their members to gather their views and thoughts on what they hoped for Singapore in 2030.
