The new WorkPro, which takes effect from July this year, is now back with an additional $66 million funding to last over three years.
Initially launched in April 2013 and ending in March this year, the scheme was designed to provide funding support for employers to re-design jobs and create progressive and age-friendly workplaces.
The scheme is jointly developed by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), and in consultation with Singapore National Employers Federation and NTUC.
The WorkPro scheme consists of the Age Management Grant (AMG) and the Job Redesign Grant (JRG) to help employers to fun and implement initiatives that benefit mature workers.
Age Management Grant and Job Redesign Grant
Companies can receive grants of up to $320,000 to support the implementation of initiatives for mature workers.
Enhancements to AMG include raising the minimum age to 50, up from 40. This means that the grant is more focused on benefitting companies that employ older workers.
To qualify for AMG of up to $20,000, companies would now need to implement four out of six, up from two, age management practices on top of attending compulsory training.
JRG projects can now be funded at up to 80 per cent of the project cost or up to $20,000 per older worker aged 50 years and above who have benefited. This was previously capped at $3,000 per newly-hired mature workers aged 40 years and above or retained workers aged 55 years and above.
