“I work for a cause, not for applause,” said Muhammad Ahnaf Bin Abdul Manaf.
An advocate of safety at the workplace, he constantly seeks opportunities to upgrade himself so as to remain relevant in a changing business environment. And in view of his good performance and positive attitude, the company appointed him Health, Safety and the Environment technician after he attained his Advanced Workplace Health Safety (WSH) Specialist Diploma in 2014.
Recognised as a caring leader and mentor, Ahnaf constantly motivates his colleagues and readily shares his knowledge and skills with them.
Despite the challenges of working with peers from diverse cultural backgrounds, Ahnaf’s perseverance resulted in him developing an easy-to-understand way of sharing the right safety rules and procedures at work.
“I see myself as a bridge for my colleagues and peers. I’ve experienced the challenges they faced before, and if I can settle their problems, I will settle them. Otherwise, I’ll highlight it to my supervisors,” he shared.
Additionally, Ahnaf also actively contributes ideas on implementing preventive measures to strengthen Keppel’s safety culture. Through his team efforts, Ahnaf has helped to improve safety standards at work and maintained a safe workplace for all.
