It wasn’t the Grammys or Oscars, but the May Day Awards held on 5 May 2018 at Mediacorp’s MES Theatre still had plenty of stars – 141 to be exact.

These men, women and organisations were honoured for their outstanding contributions in making a difference to the lives of workers.

The highest award – the Distinguished Comrade of Labour – went to the former NTUC Secretary-General and former Manpower Minister Lim Swee Say for his remarkable service to working people spanning two decades.

No extra points for guessing who graced the cover of our May Day Awards 2018 magazine – it was Mr Lim Swee Say, of course!

They’ve all got their copy. Have you received yours?

The supporters from the DBS Staff Union added a touch of fun and camaraderie as DBS Group CEO Piyush Gupta walked up to the stage for his award.

And there he is, the MVP of the day – former NTUC SG and Manpower Minister Lim Swee Say – when he was given an introduction by the master of ceremony.

And to cap it off, a group shot with all the awardees to mark the May Day Awards 2018. Congratulations to all!
