“When words are not enough to express our thanks, we say it with action,” said Labour MP and NTUC Assistant Secretary-General Desmond Choo in a Facebook post on 15 February 2020.
And true to his words, he joined 30 youth volunteers from Young NTUC and Young People’s Action Party (PAP) to prepare 400 care packages for healthcare workers.
Frontline Heroes
There have been reports of healthcare workers being shunned in public in light of the Covid-19 outbreak. However, these are the very same people who have been working tirelessly on the frontlines to fight against the virus, making it all the more important for the community to rally and show our support for their efforts and selflessness.
“To our frontline heroes, thank you for going above and beyond your call of duty to keep us clean, safe and protected. Please also remember to take care of yourselves, especially during this stressful period. We will be with you every step of the way!” added Mr Choo.
Inside the Care Pack
The care pack contained canned drinks, snacks, hand cream and a thank you note from the youths of Young NTUC and Young PAP. The packs were sent to the Healthcare Services Employees’ Union (HSEU) for distribution.
