There are some new servings wafting out from NTUC Foodfare’s foodcourt at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) with its recent reopening, giving diners a healthier, more gracious approach to
casual dining.
Foodfare’s team of nutritionists have been working closely with KTPH nutritionists and stall tenants to create a healthier range of menu offerings for diners that are both innovative and delicious.
For a start, brown rice dishes are priced less than white rice servings to encourage consumers to opt for more nutritious meals. Similarly, drinks with less sugar will also hurt the pocket less.
Prices aside, every stall’s menu board carries details of the number of calories in each dish. According to Foodfare, more than 80 per cent of dishes contain less than 500 calories.
Gracious Living
As part of Foodfare’s commitment towards social graciousness and environmental sustainability, tray return stations have been made more accessible while diners who bring their own takeaway containers get discounts off their food. Food waste will also be salvaged as compost for KTPH’s gardens.
As part of the extensive facelift, Foodfare @ KTPH has complemented its Nordic-inspired contemporary styling with the addition of a mezzanine floor to increase seating capacity to accommodate up to 400 diners.
Besides offering cosy spaces for diners, the foodcourt’s new mezzanine area is also home to The Soup Spoon+, a new dining concept from The Soup Spoon which allows diners to create their own salads on top of its regular soup and sandwich offerings.
