Be part of a massive global group of more than 500 million people in 175 countries to do your bit for the environment on Earth Day on 22 April this year.
Here, at home in Singapore, make the choice to Bring Your Own Bag (BYOB) for one full week, and all year long if you want to, when you go grocery shopping at NTUC FairPrice stores island-wide.
In support of Earth Day on 22 April, and lasting till 28 April, NTUC Fairprice Co-operative Limited is bringing back for the third time its FairPrice Cares! Campaign.
The initiative aims to reduce the use of plastic bags to save at least 100,000 within the week.
What's more, the company's charity arm FairPrice Foundation will donate $30,000 at the end of the week to Bizlink Centre and Bishan Home for the Intellectually Disabled to aid their community efforts.
"We want to encourage more customers to join us in our green efforts to help create a sustainable environment during the week starting with Earth Day. In fact, what we hope for is that customers will support such efforts daily, all year long.
"We have noticed greater awareness and increased participation of some of our eco-friendly efforts such as the Green Rewards Scheme, but we are constantly looking for more ways to better engage the community in our green efforts," said Koh Kok Sin, FairPrice's Green Committee Chairperson.
FairPrice is also organising the "Care to Save a Bag" photo contest where you stand a chance to win FairPrice vouchers worth $100 and limited edition gifts.
