Home-Fix has been described as an enlightened employer who has worked with NTUC to develop a strong Singaporean core, with 70 per cent of employees who are Singaporeans.
To counter the manpower challenges, this local SME introduced various schemes to attract and retain Singaporeans, among them, a five-day work week for frontline retail staff.
“The flexi-work scheme extended to our employees not only serves to promote greater work-life balance, we also hope that it serves as a motivation for our people to work more efficiently,” said Mr Low.
Home-Fix also sponsored NTUC membership for all its employees, introduced flexi-work arrangements of up to 24 days a year, and allow staff to claim $600 in flexible benefits.
“In addition to workplace and career advisory services provided by the union, NTUC membership also offers a slew of health and lifestyle privileges that benefits our employees.
“More importantly, it allows our employees to enjoy highly subsidised rates to pursue skills upgrading training and courses to continuously improve themselves,” added Mr Low.
The company has also adopted the Earn and Learn Programme to attract more local talent to join the retail industry.
