Good news for Wild Wild Wet fans! Singapore’s beloved water park at Downtown East has re-opened with ride enhancements and improvements for a splashing good time. It has been temporarily closed since 23 July this year to facilitate renovations, enhancements, and the installation of a new ride.
Here are the highlights:
• Two man-made geysers have been installed at the Tsunami Pool (wave pool), which alternates between wild ocean waves and calm relaxing water. The geysers have been timed to propel strong water jets during
the calm periods to create all-round turbulent fun.
• The placid, meandering Shiok River (lazy river) has an added water curtain.
• The main shower rooms are totally revamped with new wall and floor tiles, refurbished doors and panels, new washing trough and adjustable shower heads. Dedicated waterproof storage cabinets have also been
installed in all shower cubicles for added security and convenience for guests who prefer to bring in their personal belongings.
Although it was originally set to be launched in October, the new ride will be unveiled at a later date. It is a small part of the whole five-year development plan of Downtown East where Wild Wild Wet is set to expand to twice its current size. This adrenaline-inducing ride is a great addition to Wild Wild Wet before its full launch in 2015 with a total of more than 13 rides, setting the water park as a major player in the industry.
