To write the new chapter of the Singapore story, Singaporeans would inevitably face the big challenge of re-creating their achievements, a bigger challenge of creating new successes and the biggest challenge of taking shared ownership of a better future, said NTUC Secretary-General Lim Swee Say.
This was the key message he impressed upon some 500 members of the Labour Movement family, such as staff of NTUC, union leaders and representatives of NTUC Social Enterprises, at the Staff Union of NTUC National Day Observance Ceremony on 27 August 2012.
He also highlighted that the Labour Movement had an important role to play in making Singapore a home with a brighter hope, a home with a bigger heart and the best home possible for all Singaporeans, a reference to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s National Day Rally speech the day before on how the next chapter of Singapore’s story is about “hope, heart and home”.
