Global Accountancy body, CPA Australia is NTUC’s 21st U Associate partner and the first professional accounting body to come on board.
Signing the Agreement at the 2015 CPA Congress was NTUC Vice President, Mr Edwin Lye and Mr Melvin Yong, Country Head, Singapore CPA Australia.
And witnessed by NTUC Director for Membership, Mr Vivek Kumar and Mr Philip Yuen, Divisional President of Singapore, CPA Australia
It is all part of NTUC’s partnership programme to engage and support professional associations and PMEs.
The Benefits
CPA Australia’s U Associate status now grants it access to a range of resources and support from NTUC for the development and professional growth of the association and its members.
Under the partnership, CPA Australia has created the Finance Operations Development Programme supported by NTUC U Associate and e2i.
The aim is to enhance the skills of individuals in various finance functions and the programme provides training in the key areas of financial management, business management, leadership and risk management.
It is designed for professionals with three to eight years of experience and the signatories hope such programmes will help to entrench the culture of life-long learning amongst finance professionals.
Abut The U Associate Programme
The NTUC U Associate Programme is a key initiative by the Labour Movement to reach out to Professionals, Managers and Executives (PMEs) through professional associations.
It was launched in March 2011 and focuses on developing career and skills progression plans for PMEs in a range of sectors.
The aim is to prepare PMEs to be future-ready and future-proof and open up greater opportunities for both the associations and PMEs.
