The ‘Breadwinners - We Care, U Care’ campaign targets to raise $1.5 million to help low-income workers and their families.

Jointly organised by NTUC FairPrice and NTUC-U Care Fund, the `Breadwinners - We Care U Care’ campaign has been a strong testament in efforts to reach out to these families.

This year's campaign launched was held on 16 August 2012 at FairPrice Xtra@nex.

As part of the two-week campaign, FairPrice Foundation will donate $5 to the NTUC-U Care Fund for each loaf of FairPrice Housebrand bread sold.

The campaign aims to achieve sales of some 300,000 loaves of bread, translating to a donation of $1.5 million from FairPrice Foundation.

At the launch, Chairman for NTUC FairPrice Foundation and NTUC FairPrice Ng Ser Miang said: “We are relieved that food prices for the first half of this year have moderated but we are also aware that many low-income workers and their families continue to need support to cope with their daily needs.

“Through this ‘Breadwinners – We Care, U Care’ campaign, we hope to spread the spirit of compassion by engaging our customers in this journey to do good for the community. Together with the community, we want to bring some relief to the breadwinners and their families.”

Being part of the NTUC family, NTUC FairPrice has worked closely with other social enterprises and unions to make a bigger impact through the NTUC-U Care Fund.

The contribution from the Breadwinners campaign will bring the NTUC-U Care Fund closer to its $10.5 million fund target for this year which will go towards helping some 100,000 beneficiaries.
