The two-day course will teach you the four basic essential skills for the digital age – mindset, technology, innovation and data management. Students will get to build their own action plan to apply what they have learned and pick up more future skills.

NTUC LearningHub (LHUB), one of the training providers for SFDW, has garnered over 1,100 participants ranging from individuals to corporations and unions since the programme’s soft launch in September 2017.
To make sure that the course is relevant, LHUB will customise the content according to the student profile.

Is it really as good as it sounds? Let’s hear what some participants had to say:

“We saw several companies restructuring and streamlining their services for better efficiency in the past two years. This course will come a long way to help businesses in their transformation process. About 26 per cent of SISEU members are mature workers. We also want to raise the awareness amongst our branch officials and members about the technological skills they need to remain employable.”
- Singapore Industrial & Services Employees’ Union (SISEU) President Joanne Chua, who will be sending 52 branch officials for four runs of the SFDW from 16 to 28 November 2017.

“The radio frequency identification [skill] I learned is very useful. We can use it to track and count our few thousand technical manual books by just using a ‘gun’ to scan the barcodes. My day job is to service aircraft components. Maybe with new technology, we can record and capture the whole repair process in future and use it for training new employees.”
- SISEU Internal Auditor and ST Aerospace Systems Service Engineer David Tan

“The course took away the fear of robotisation and taught us about smart homes and appliances. After the class, my confidence towards technology is higher. I can now make use of phone applications to search for information.”
- Security Officer Maran A Loganathan, 61
