Over 70 professional, manager and executive members from Keppel FELS Employees Union (KFEU) and Keppel FELS management partners came together to spend lunchtime gaining fresh perspectives on the impact of digitalisation and how it can play an important role in one’s career development.
Titled ‘Evolving the Future Workforce to Strive in Industry 4.0 Through Growth and Future-Ready Mindsets’, the hour-long talk was presented by Gary Lim, the chief education & skills officer at Microsoft Singapore. The event took place on 28 August 2017 at Keppel FELS.
“This talk emphasises the fact that we need to embrace technology for progress. Everyone knows about digitalisation and how data is influencing the way we do things… this talk is quite timely in sharing how crucial it is for us to be picking up new skills to use the new technology that is being introduced,” shared KFEU Executive Committee Member Aizat Abu Hassan.
A Collaborative First
The talk also marked the first project between U Future Leaders and KFEU.
“Our management is very supportive of the union and they were also invited to join in the session. This is also our first time working with the U Future Leaders and we got to learn about current issues such as digitalisaion, which the speaker shared with us.
"We will definitely be able to look into more of such future events,” said KFEU Executive Committee Member Julian Wang, who worked with U Future Leaders to organise the lunch talk.
