At NTUC, our goal is to help our workers, especially those in need, live better lives. We want them to have more peace of mind.

NTUC social enterprises ensure essential living costs are affordable and address underserved needs. The NTUC-U Care Fund also raises money to support lower-income workers and their families.

NTUC offers services and programmes that help with education, upskilling, senior care, health, groceries, cooked food, insurance, and leisure. These services support workers at every stage of life.

NTUC will continue doing good for our workers because #EveryWorkerMatters.

Education

NTUC First Campus (NFC) ensures that children have access to quality preschool education, regardless of their family’s circumstances.

It manages the preschool brands My First Skool and Little Skool House.

The social enterprise helps children and families in many ways. It offers financial aid, learning support, social assistance, and health services.

The Child Support Model uses an integrated approach to meet the different needs of children and families. This includes families with lower incomes and children with learning needs

NFC’s Bright Horizons Fund (BHF) helps lower-income families. The charity initiative provides money for fee subsidies, field trips, and Kindergarten Two graduation packages.

Skills Upgrading

NTUC LearningHub ensures our workers have the necessary skills to stay employed for life.

It offers workers many learning solutions. These include infocomm technology, generative AI, cloud services, healthcare, retail, and food services.

NTUC LearningHub’s Learning eXperience Platform (LXP) is a mobile app. It provides workers with affordable and quality bite-sized content for users to upskill anytime and anywhere.

Additionally, the Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP) helps NTUC Union Members by offering training subsidies. This reduces the cost of eligible NTUC LearningHub courses.

The NTUC-Education and Training Fund sponsors UTAP to help our NTUC members upskill.

Groceries and Cooked Food

NTUC FairPrice strives to keep daily essentials affordable for everyone in Singapore, including the lower-income and vulnerable.

Its main role is to compare prices. This makes food and daily necessities affordable for the people of Singapore. It continues to fulfill this responsibility today.

The social enterprise has several retail formats. These include FairPrice, FairPrice Finest, and FairPrice Xtra supermarkets and FairPrice Shop, Cheers, and FairPrice Xpress convenience stores. Additionally, there are Unity pharmacy outlets.

Below is a list of NTUC FairPrice’s range of cost-saving initiatives.

Discount programmes help reduce GST increases and save money for the lower-income and vulnerable. This includes Pioneer and Merdeka Generation individuals, seniors, and CHAS Blue and Orange cardholders.

  • Housebrand products help people save money. Prices are at a minimum of 10 per cent to 15 per cent below comparable brands.
  • Share-A-Textbook is an annual textbook donation drive for needy students.
  • The Return Voucher Programme works with the Government’s CDC Voucher Scheme. It gives shoppers extra vouchers when they spend a minimum amount at FairPrice stores.

Additionally, Kopitiam runs the Rice Garden Community Programme, which offers low-priced cai fan meals across 40 outlets.

Health and Senior Care

NTUC Health provides affordable, quality health and senior care services to workers and their families, including the vulnerable.

The social enterprise is one of the largest providers in Singapore. It offers active ageing, senior day care, nursing home, and home personal care services. It also runs dental and family medicine clinics.

NTUC Health supports the vulnerable elderly in various ways through the Health for Life Fund. It addresses their material, emotional, psychological, and physical needs.

The support includes financial aid for senior care facilities and funding for active ageing initiatives.

NTUC Health helps vulnerable seniors with community case management services. They also provide CREST mental health support and run a sheltered senior group home.

Insurance

Income Insurance ensures that insurance is available to everyone, including the lower-income and vulnerable.

It provides two affordable life insurance policies for NTUC Union Members. NTUC Gift is an NTUC membership benefit. NTUC LUV is an optional policy that you must enroll in separately.

NTUC LUV mainly covers death or permanent disability from accidents. In contrast, NTUC Gift provides wider coverage, including death or total and permanent disability from any cause, including illness.

Additionally, Income’s community development platform, Income OrangeAid, supports lower-income households in areas such as education and senior well-being.

The bursaries Sharon Peh received under Income's Orange Aid helped to support her schooling and living expenses. It was especially meaningful to her, as her father, the family's sole breadwinner, had an accident and could no longer provide financial support.

Leisure

NTUC Club's social purpose is to provide affordable leisure experiences for everyone.

Its key property is Downtown East, a lifestyle destination that brings exciting activities and fun experiences under one roof.

NTUC Club’s Family Fun Fiesta lets NTUC Union Members have a free day of fun with their families at Downtown East. This strengthens family bonding and promotes better work-life balance and well-being.
